Dua Lipa, an English artist and singer was born in London on 22 August 1995. Her debut self-titled album debuted in 2017, after she been signed by Warner Bros Records. The album reached third place in the U.K. Albums Chart and was followed by eight singles, including Be the One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. number-one song New Rules which peaked at number six on the charts in the United States. Lipa has been awarded the Brit Awards as a British female solo artist as well as British breakout act in the year 2018. The album was rated platinum in the world. She was born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Through her maternal grandmother, she has Bosnian descent. Her family tree can be identified back to the Kosovo city of Peja. Two of Lipa's grandfathers were historians. She is a sister to Rina Lipa and one younger brother, named Gjin. Lipa was influenced musically by her father, who is the principal guitar player and the singer of the Kosovan band Oda. At the age of nine she started learning to sing. Lipa sang in the song If I'm Not Goin' to You with Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera.
