Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast who was born on March 14, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio. She is considered to be among the top gymnasts. The 2016 Olympics took place in Rio de Janeiro and Biles became the U.S.'s first female gymnast ever to be awarded four gold medals. She also won the world championship for all-around three times consecutively (2013-15). Biles, along with her twins Adria and Ronald Biles were adopted as children by the grandparents of Houston. Simone was introduced to gymnastics by her daycare instructor Aimee Borman, when she was 6 years old. She was a student at Bannon's Gymnastix for 11 years. Biles achieved a silver medal at vaulting in the year 2010 as well as a bronze at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. Biles then advanced to the level of elite competition in 2011. In just two short years, she became the best in her sport. Biles's consistent, exuberant nature and high degree of challenge during her four events- vault uneven bars balance beam floor workout and floor exercises -- helped to set her above the others.
