Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass on October 3rd, 1962 in Athens, Greece, to father David Lee Thomas Bass, an American U.S. Army sergeant and mother Vassiliki "Voula" Papadimitriou (Greek: Basilike Papademetriou), an actress on the 1957 Miss Greece beauty contest. He is the younger brother of Athena, who is also drummer. Lee was only two years old [4] when his father took his family to the United States. Lee received his first drums at the age of four and his first big drum kit when he was a teenager. Lee quit high school in order to pursue music as a career starting with Suite 19, a L.A.-based club band. He listened to Van Halen, Led Zeppelin and Cheap Trick in his teens. His primary drumming influences include John Bonham, Tommy Aldridge, Alex Van Halen and Terry Bozzio
