Taylor Russell McKenzie was conceived in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 18 the 18th of July, 1994. She also grew up in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. [1][2The Russell, who was born to a black father and a white mother, is biracial and grew up mostly with her mother's side of the family. Russell recalled how as a child she was rejected by her peers because of the shade of her skin. Their parents were struggling financially, and were constantly in a state of flux, moving their homes 16 times to follow her father's work. Russell expressed her feelings about how despite this hardship, Russell said that she was always creative in her early years. She wanted to become a dancer, and later to be an artist. Russell was 18 when she started her first acting class. She saved the money from work to purchase a car and drove off to Los Angeles to audition. She would return to work when her money was exhausted and would then begin the audition process. This went on for four years until she finally got her first television show role.
